Speaker Series 2024 – David Turner
Birding in the Valley
David Turner started birding in the English village where he was born. His move to Canada and ultimately to Flesherton presented a whole new array of birds to study. About 12 years ago he began to focus on the Beaver Valley with its numerous diverse habitats for bird life. To date he has seen more than 227 different species of the circa 240 species known to exist there. His decision to start the Beaver Valley Birding Club has given local birders a chance to express their passion and get together for outings. The club now has 770 members and is still expanding. David will share his knowledge of the richly varied bird habitats and the birds found there, from the most common to the rarest, while noting the effects of climate change.
The presentation is followed by a brief Q&A session.
The presentation will also be streamed and recorded from our YouTube channel.
