Scott Woods Band

Old Time Country Christmas 2023

Annesley is very happy to welcome them Scott Woods and his talented band for this uplifting 2-hour live family-friendly show, featuring lots of your favourite Christmas carols, fun fiddle tunes, as well as Traditional Country and Gospel songs. Scott will keep you entertained with his keen wit, his prowess on the fiddle, and of course his trick fiddling. Enjoy impressive guitar solos by ‘The Telecaster Master’ Steve Piticco, and smooth vocals and yodelling by Naomi Bristow, ‘Canada’s Yodelin’ Cowgirl. 18-year old Leo Stock, also known as ‘Spaghetti Legs” will demonstrate sensational step dancing, and Scott’s sister Kendra Woods Norris adds sweet harmonies, and levity to every show.

Scott Woods

Scott’s love of fiddling has been passed down through six generations. He studied classical violin from age four and plays several instruments: drums, bass, piano, guitar, saxophone and clarinet. Scott is a multiple winner of the Canadian Open Fiddle Contest, the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Championships and a Canadian Fiddle Entertainer of the Year. Scott’s famous trick fiddling routine where he turns somersaults and walks on a barrel while playing his fiddle has earned him the nickname “the Flippin’ Fiddler” and three consecutive Canadian Novelty Fiddle Championship titles. For seven years Scott was the musical director of Memories of Don Messer’s Jubilee, which toured extensively in Canada. Scott lives in Fergus, Ontario, enjoys riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and travelling with his Airstream trailer.

Steve Piticco

When it comes to pickers, Steve Piticco is in a class of his own. He has become the benchmark for seasoned professionals and developing players alike, with his distinctive sound and style. Steve was born in Toronto and began playing guitar at age eleven, acquiring the Fender Telecaster at age fifteen that he uses to this day.

Naomi Bristow

Naomi was raised on a small farm in Beeton, Ontario, Canada with her mom, Lynda and her dad, Eugene. She has a sister, Amber and two brothers, Hayden and Westin. Raised in a rodeo family, Naomi has a love for horses and enjoys riding at any opportunity when she’s not on the road. She also has a great appreciation for western cowboy music and her strong faith has guided her to gospel music.

Naomi began singing at the age of 6 at rodeos, fairs, festivals and talent contests that her parents, or grandparents would take her to almost every weekend throughout the summer. She started off singing with her brother, but decided to perform on her own singing traditional country music influenced by Leann Rimes, Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn. One day she discovered a young girl on TV that yodeled and Naomi decided she wanted to learn to do it too, so her grandpa bought her an instruction book and cassette tape and Naomi taught herself to yodel at only 8 years old.

Leo Stock

At a young age, Leo Stock was introduced to both fiddle and step dancing, and has enthusiastically pursued both. In addition to being a member of the Scott Woods Band since 2017, Leo’s musical career has included performing in the 2022 Drayton Entertainment production of Sorry, I’m Canadian 2 and numerous appearances at the Purple Hill Country Opry. Leo continues to receive awards in both fiddle and step dance contests, and is an Ontario Open Fiddle Finalist and a multiple 18 & under Fiddle Champion.

“Leo is tall and skinny, and his legs go 100 miles an hour. You wonder how he works that way. It’s like a clog and tap dance, but on steroids. People are constantly amazed by how fast he goes.”

– Scott Woods, The St. Albert Gazette

Kendra Woods Norris

Kendra studied classical violin and piano from age 8. She is a multiple winner of the Canadian Open Fiddle Competition in the 19-45 Class & 3 time winner of the Canadian Open Duet Fiddling Class with her brother Scott. She teaches private violin and piano lessons at her home in Waterloo, ON. A Music Education graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University & the University of Western Ontario, Kendra teaches music in elementary school. She has a gift for writing harmony and arranging. Kendra & her husband Joel enjoy travelling with their Airstream trailer.
