Speaker Series – Hap Wilson
In 2009, Hap Wilson was asked to map the water portion of the Trans Canada Trail from Lake Superior to Manitoba — this would comprise 25% of the entire Ontario portion of the National trail, or 1,250 kilometres by canoe. Named Path of the Paddle, after Bill Mason‘s books and films, there were several challenges along the journey that took the author six years to complete. This epic task fits every aspect of modern exploration, culminating in an attractive guidebook that would appeal to both adventurer and armchair patron of the outdoors. Hap is a recipient of the Bill Mason Award for Lifetime Achievement in River Conservation. Books by Hap Wilson will be available for sale.
